System info
When you ask for help, the first questions are usually "Which versions?" and "What's on the server?". System info answers them in one block of text you can paste into a support ticket or a forum post.
Copy it
- Go to Snipfire → Tools & Safe Mode → System info.
- Click Copy to clipboard. (If your browser doesn't allow it, select the text and press Ctrl+C, or Cmd+C on a Mac.)
- Paste it into your message.
System info needs full Snipfire access (administrators). It's also there while DISALLOW_UNFILTERED_HTML makes Snipfire read-only, since it changes nothing.
What's in it
| Section | What it lists |
|---|---|
| Snipfire | Snipfire and Snipfire Pro versions, the storage and CSS/JS folders and whether they're writable, safe mode, whether PHP snippets are allowed, whether editing is read-only, the cookie consent tool found, and whether AI abilities are offered |
| WordPress and server | WordPress and PHP versions, database, web server, multisite, environment type, site language, memory limits and the maximum execution time |
| PHP extensions Snipfire uses | Each one, whether it's loaded, and what Snipfire needs it for |
| Theme | The active theme (and its parent), and whether it's a block theme |
| Active plugins | Name, version and folder of each |
| Constants that affect Snipfire | The SNIPFIRE_… and DISALLOW_… constants, WP_DEBUG and WP_ENVIRONMENT_TYPE, if set. Short values such as true or 'staging' are shown; anything else only as set (value hidden) |
| Snippets | How many, per type how many are on and off, and how many are in testing mode |
| Errors Snipfire recorded | The latest ten errors that switched snippets off: the snippet's ID and type, when, the message and the line |
Add-ons can add sections of their own.
What's never in it
- Passwords, keys, tokens and salts. For constants such as
SNIPFIRE_GIT_TOKENorSNIPFIRE_SECRETS_KEY, only the fact that they're set is shown, never the value. - The values of secrets and the AI assistant's key.
- Your snippets' code.
- Email addresses.
- Full server paths: folders are shown from the WordPress folder down, and removed from error messages.
Snipfire never sends system info anywhere. It's only on your screen until you copy it and paste it yourself. Read it before posting it in a public forum.
From the command line and the API
wp snipfire info --system # as text, ready to paste
wp snipfire info --system --format=json # the same, as JSON
REST API: GET /system-info returns the sections and the text.
For monitoring tools that look after several sites, GET /status gives a shorter, machine-readable summary.
