How switching works.

Your site keeps working after every step.

  1. Install the free plugin

    Snipfire notices snippets from other plugins and offers to import them. Your old plugin doesn't even need to be active: Snipfire reads its data directly.

  2. Import

    Copies arrive switched off in an "Imported / WPCodeBox" folder, with a note on anything that works differently. Nothing changes on your site yet.

  3. Check the few that need it

    Anything Snipfire can't match exactly is marked "Check first" and keeps running in WPCodeBox until you've looked at it. Snipfire never guesses silently.

  4. Switch on, one snippet at a time

    Switch each snippet on in Snipfire and off in WPCodeBox. Every switch-on is checked and test-loaded, so a snippet that would break the site stays off.

  5. Remove the old plugin when you're ready

    Old shortcodes like [wpcode], [code_snippet], [fluent_snippet] and [hfcm] keep working, even after the old plugin is gone.
