Search and archives
Better site search and cleaner archive pages.
- Leave pages out of search results Site search only looks through posts (and products, if you have a shop), not pages like Contact or Privacy policy.
- Go straight to the only search result When a search finds exactly one post, the visitor goes straight to it instead of a results page with one link.
- Highlight the search words in results The words a visitor searched for are highlighted in the titles and excerpts on the search results page.
- Remove “Category:” from archive titles Archive pages show just “Recipes” instead of “Category: Recipes” (and the same for tags, authors and dates).
- Hide a category from the blog page Posts in the category you choose don’t show on the main blog page. They’re still on their category page and in search.
- No results page for empty searches Searching for nothing (an empty search box) sends the visitor back to the home page instead of listing every post.
